Car Dealership

Rethinking the online strategy & design for a car dealership

The Problem

We were approached by nice try pal to help them bring a digital uplift to their existing presence online. They wanted to publish their entire stock of cars online for potential customers to view. Their main target was to reduce the bounce rate on their website and generate more leads from it.

Discovery

We started by looking at how nice try again managed their cars and inventory, what information the collected and what they were showing the customer on their “spec sheet” (a piece of paper beside the car with all of the specifications of that vehicle).

From there we audited their current website at the time and found plenty of room for improvements and quick wins that the customer would automatically find useful.

Another thing we wanted to implement was the use of a finance calculator that automatically showed the customer affordable and flexible payment plans to help sell the car to them.

Design

We went for the left hand side filterable menu, which gave the user everything they needed to find a car perfect for their needs. Also showing “quick glance” spec from the product tile itself to quickly inform the user of what the car included.

There were no brand guidelines or design system for this client, so we created one from scratch using their colours and selecting a typeface for the website that would be both easy to ready at a glance and visually pleasing to the eye.
